Grace Community is a church plant from Christ Point Church. Christ Point’s leadership was looking at establishing a ministry in Flour Bluff, and during this time the senior pastor there felt God’s call to step down and lead this new church in the Flour Bluff area. A worship leader and a children’s minister stepped into their roles and continue serving faithfully today.

Grace Community began meeting in the Flour Bluff Conference Center in 2011 for nine months and then moved into a space by Gulf Coast Marine (fondly called the “boat barn”) in October 2011. In 2013, the church purchased its current property at 1514 Flour Bluff Dr. and moved in on October 6, 2013. There was a small church building and house on the property, and the congregation met in those facilities for a year while the new worship center was being built.

On October 19, 2014, the church celebrated the grand opening of its new worship center and classrooms. In the fall of 2015, construction began on a children’s wing, which opened on February 7, 2016. As the church continued to grow, a youth minister joined the staff in June of 2017. Then, in the summer of 2018, a new building project was launched to nearly double the seating capacity of the worship center and to add a youth center, offices, more parking, and another classroom. The congregation moved into this new addition on April 14, 2019, creating space to continue reaching more people for Christ.

Most recently, Grace Community has begun work on a new recreation center along with additional classrooms. This expansion will provide space for fellowship, outreach events, and discipleship opportunities for all ages, further equipping the church to serve the Flour Bluff community and beyond.
